About Me

friendly, outgoing, unpretentious, intuitive, empathetic/sympathetic, and a bit wound up sometimes! (Type "A" Personality, so I'm told, but really, you can't put anyone in a box...)
Describe Yourself:

I'm a 5'2" Bottle-Blonde Baby Boomer (say THAT fast 10 times!!), who absolutely loves traveling and discovering new places and people. I love the beach, rafting down rivers, boating on and swimming in lakes, walking around ponds, discovering sea life in tidal pools, scuba diving in the ocean...just sit me in some water, and I'm happy! My hobbies are digital photography, underwater photography, scuba diving, collecting all things nautical/tropical for the house, avid reading, collecting/finding good costume jewelry (this last item is more of an addiction than a hobby!). I still have lots to learn about shooting manually, but hope to learn a great deal more as time goes on from my Gather friendships!
On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:

friendships, inspiration, day-to-day wisdom, perhaps some networking - and some instruction on how to shoot manually with my Canon Rebel XT - I've finally started taking an intermediate digital SLR photography class at our local community college at night, and am learning a LOT! I've also joined the Northeast Texas Photography Club recently, where I am also getting a lot of great tips and experience. It's great that all these things are available! I highly recommend those of you who are amateur photographers to start taking a class if you haven't learned to shoot manually yet, so you can really see yourself start to grow and improve. I really have had to make myself begin to learn these manual settings, finally, but I'm glad I'm doing it!

Happy Mother's Day! Yes, it is the upgrade...pre-Hawthorne, I saw pretty much everything my connections posted...now...in the 30 days since the upgrade, I have only made $21...it is not about the money, that is an indication of how little I am connected to Gather now.
